Quality Arena 🤼 Parts Unknown, FL
Aired live on GRPL+ 📺 October 4th, 2024
A video package aired to start the show hyping the fatal four way that’ll main event tonight and determine the new #1 contender to the Women's World championship; it ended with alternating shots of Sohla Patel, Luz Cruz, Shelley LaVey and Crush champion “Night Sky” Diana Spare all promising to win and go on to take the Women's World title from around the waist of Lolo Vuitton.
The standard open rolled from there, and Quality Arena was rocking as it does on a Friday night. Steve Vandeblanche and Carl Christensen at the announce table, Duck Eko handling the ring introductions and we got things underway…unfortunately…with the reigning holder of the Duquesne Cup and his flock.
1. “the Purifier” Caleb Grey [c, w/the Chosen] d. Atum Pharaoh at 7:58 to retain the QCW National Championship The white clad Grey had some problems early against the power man from the motherland, but got things on his side when he floored Atum with consecutive cyclone kicks. The Purifier pretty much ran the table after those and put away Pharaoh with Repent to the joys of his acolytes and probably nobody else.
Goody Gardner hectored Duck for the mic before handing it to Caleb, who cut a rare promo. He said that whether it be that harlot Szabo or this poor muscular foreigner, he had proven himself not only as the longest reigning champion in QCW but its best. For a place that called itself Quality Championship Wrestling, he couldn't find a quality opponent who could provide competition for the National Championship.
Then something shocking happened.
As Grey threatened that whomever challenged him next would fall to their knees and repent, he was cut off; not by the fallen Atum or a rematch seeking Influencer, but by “Bombs Over Baghdad”.
The roof nearly came off Quality Arena as the Tron parted and for the first time in months, out came QCW legend Jupiter Jones. The network had to mute part of the “Holy shit!” chants as Jones strolled down the aisle in a throwback Dale Murphy jersey with a small smile on his face. You could hear a gleeful Carl Christensen laughing at the desk before pointing out Grey had turned almost as white as his gear while Steve couldn't believe what he was seeing. As Jones stepped into the ring, The Chosen suddenly scurried to the floor with Drake Tremble almost setting a land speed record upon seeing his old rival back between QCW’s ropes for the first time in months.
Jones picked up the mic Grey left behind while the Arena almost wobbled under the force of a thousand strong chanting “Welcome back!” at the top of their lungs. Jupiter looked around QA before focusing his eyes on the ramp and the Chosen. “You know what my favorite Bible verse says, champ?” The former QCW champion smiled a humorless grin before pointing at Caleb Grey and saying “Ask and you shall receive.” Jones dropped the mic and OutKast hit the PA, the crowd erupting yet again as Steve freaked the entire eff out over a QCW legend coming back and coming back seemingly after gold yet again. Carl noted QCW was just better with Jupiter in it; of note, all five people in the Arena who disagreed were staring into the ring as if a lamb was about to be led to slaughter and the executioner had just offered a friendly (?) handshake.
Understandably, the announce was pleasantly shocked at the return of a QCW icon. After putting over Jones a little bit more, Steve went over a review of some of the latest Quality Social posts this past week. They showed off Ig de Catur hyping the 3rd anniversary show Ruckus will have in a couple of weeks, Prince Ootsuka shooting a fashion wear commercial, and Commissioner Holmes saying that he was rejecting Omar Littlefield’s request to return to action and extending his suspension for another/this week.
2. Orion fought Hawk Carter to a no contest at 5:42 After a few weeks of hype, Orion made their QCW debut here in a styles clash against Quality Arena’s resident cowboy. Carter took the advantage with his power but got surprised by a handspring tornado DDT from the newbie that flooded him and opened the door to an Orion comeback. Orion showed off some hang time as the space loving high flyer got their offensive retribution but the bout got ruined by the sudden emergence of Omar Littlefield, still on a rampage after eating his first pin at AnnIVersary and losing the World title in the process. Both Carter and Orion ate multiple Face Erasers and even one poor security guard did too before the rest of Quality Force security were able to wrangle Omar and take him to the back. Commissioner Holmes berated him for breaking his suspension but the massive Michigander’s only responds was spitting again at Holmes before uttering a cryptic “You know what I want.” QFS and Holmes lead Littlefield up the ramp and to the back before Ruckus went to commercials.
✨ ✨ ✨
During the Break, Omar was ushered into a car and driven out of Quality Arena - though it could’ve been worse for him since it wasn’t a cop car.
Elsewhere backstage, Julius Duquesne III brought on the All Starr Stable and Nazir el-Fadal ahead of their eight man tag against Beauty and the Beast Mode and Savage Justice tonight. S. Mark Starr said that sure, he and Naz hadn't seen eye to eye in the past but after consulting with some dead Presidents, he could better see where Naz was coming from and since they had mutual enemies why not stomp them out? Naz said that for all Razorblade’s talents, thinking wasn't one of them and that's why he was able to get the drop on him last week. Someone like him was always playing 3D chess while someone like Savage tried to eat the board pieces. Come Dia de los Muertos the good people of Mexico City would see him regain the World title he never should have lost, but tonight the rabble in Parts Unknown would get another example of why some called him the One Man Jihad but everyone knew the truth - that not only was he once again the uncrowned QCW World champion,..why, he was the man who ended Autumn Powers’ career…the sort of thing you could only do if you were The Greatest Man Alive.
The heels took their leave and Julius threw things to Duck in the ring for the next bout:
3. “Explosive” Emily Bennett d. Bonnie Agrippa (w/Hysteria) at 10:08 The biggest win of Bennett’s QCW career came when she won the Ace in the Hole tournament on the AnnIVersary show to earn a cash in opportunity for any title any time she wanted it; her second biggest win came right here over former Crush champion Agrippa. Of note, Luz Cruz wasn't with the rest of her coven, probably because she's getting ready for the main event tonight. Bennett seemed to surprise Bonnie in the early going by matching her on the mat, and even when Bonnie got the upper hand by making things more of a brawl Emily managed to keep pace in that department, too. When Agrippa reversed a whip, Justine Danek couldn't resist and tried tripping Emily, who stumbled but didn't go down. Justine’s attempt at interference drew the referee’s attention and after conferring with Emily the zebra ejected Justine, Nancy Crowley and Bella Jolie to the cheers of the crowd with other referees leading them away from ringside.
Emily was happy to see them get the boot and had some mocking for them as they left but that allowed Bonnie to drop her with a falling reverse DDT. Agrippa quickly scrambled to the second rope and hit an elbow drop then followed it up with a second one to gain control. Bonnie put a beating on Bennett when she wasn't complaining to the referee about her friends being ejected but the bubby blonde showed her toughness and kicked out of a few near falls. Agrippa showed some frustration but continued on, hitting a couple of rolling suplexes, but when she looked to do a slingshot suplex Emily frantically kicked away to land safely on the apron. Both men exchanged shots before Bennett landed a DDT into the apron that nearly put Bonnie out. Emily quickly followed up with a slingshot elevated powerbomb she calls Time’s Up to get the upset W.
While Emily was getting her hand raised, the lights went out. The crowd steeled themselves despite some loud thumps in the darkness and when the lights came on Hysteria was on the ramp - but Bella, Justine and Nancy were all laid out on the ramp holding their heads - and the Women's World champion Lolo Vuitton was standing at the bottom of the ramp with a bent steel chair and a mileswide smirk on her face. Vuitton looked at Emily and dumped the chair on the floor before heading up the ramp, making sure to step on each woman in Hysteria she’d laid out on her way to the back. A happy Emily got her hand raised again before she got her title shot Ace from Duck and headed to the back herself while the core members of Hysteria tried to clear the cobwebs.
After that it was back TOTHEBACK~!, where Enya Face brought on her guests - Beauty and the Beast Mode, Justice Davis and the QCW World champion Mason “Razorblade” Savage. The Quality Controllers popped as “These Hands” Roy Fade and “Dashing” Pierce Moore joined their partners for tonight. Enya asked if they’d heard what Naz said earlier and Moore said he heard her loud and clear but he didn't let uggos pollute his pristine ears, so no. Fade and Davis said they didn't care at the same time but The Champ said he heard Naz loud and clear, even if it sounded like a rerun. If Naz wanted to remind people of who he thought he was then Razorblade would remind him of who he was - the man who put the fighting in fighting champion and the man who'd be interviewing Naz with his fists just so he could get a taste of just how Dia de los Muertos was going to end up for him. Razorblade held up the World title and broke out into an evil grin before walking out of the frame; the rest of the team followed and Enya said that they'd be back with more Ruckus after this.
✨ ✨ ✨
4. Avión III d. Il Postino at 6:10 After getting himself counted out in Jim Jaspers' return match next week, Avión decided to celebrate the season by having a big helping of squash. Postino barely got in any shots, Avión hit Air Superiority but pulled Postino up at 2 then hit it again for the win. Avión further celebrated post match by ripping off Postino’s eye mask and shoving it in his mouth.
Lolo Vuitton was doing her runway walk towards a cream colored Escalade when she heard a voice calling her name. Vuitton balled a fist, turned around and swung - but she pulled up short when she saw it was “Explosive” Emily Bennett. After Lolo got out of fight mode and asked Bennett what's up, Emily said she just wanted to thank Lolo for having her back out there earlier. Lolo said it was no big thing: Emily had her back last week against the witch bitches (she said it though) so Lolo had her back. But now that they were face to face she had to tell Emily something important: if she was thinking about cashing in on her and trying to take the Women's World championship she’d fought so hard to regain, Miss Thang herself would put a Bloody Shoe between her eyes without hesitation. Emily seemed a little stunned as Vuitton flashed a predatory grin before getting in her luxury car and speeding out of the Arena. Bennett watched her go, surprise still in her eyes before saying “Lolo Vuitton threatened me?!
I am so acing this!”
Bennett smiled and walked away.
Nonpoint’s “Bullet With A Name” brought out the All Starr Stable: Jacques Krieger and the World Tag Team champions A Cut Above. S. Mark Starr followed his men out to the ramp, but they all paused at the bottom before the Fugees’ “Ready Or Not” took over the PA to bring out Nazir el-Fadal. The One Man Jihad joined his partners and the heels hit the ring as the usually verbose Naz had only one thing to say to the camera: It's gonna be last week all over again. All of them posed on the turnbuckles (well, not Krieger) while Steve hyped up the all star eight man tag up next.
✨ ✨ ✨
Beauty and the Beast Mode came out after the last commercial break without Shelley LaVey next to them as usual, as she's getting ready for the main event. Out next was Justice Davis, followed by The Champ. Mason “Razorblade” Savage talked briefly to his teammates before they rushed the ring, the heels getting out as they slid in.
So that meant the ensuing Pier 8 happened on the floor all around the ring for nearly a minute straight, and that was before the bell even rang.
5. Beauty and the Beast Mode and Savage Justice d. The All Starr Stable and Nazir el-Fadal (w/S. Mark Starr) at 12:37 Once the bell rang, things calmed down but not by much; Justice Davis acquitted himself well against the World Tag Team champions and was matching Krieger in brawling ability. But a blind tag from Naz allowed him to blindside JD with a cobra clutch Lungblower, and the heels took over isolating Davis after that Heat Check. The tag champs were all too happy to continue dissecting Davis while Naz did a bit of a Fargo strut on the apron to further irritate the fans. A Cut Above looked to put the finishing touches on Justice but Davis took it to both Evan O'Neill and “Upper Class” Broderick Palmer II, eventually dropping the titleholders with a combination Flatliner and DDT. Palmer II managed to crawl over and tag Naz back in, but no sooner had el-Fadal’s boots touched canvas than O’Neill got dropped by JD - who made a diving tag to The Champ.
Naz froze up, allowing Razorblade to rush across the ring and spear him down before laying in a flurry of heavy handed punches from both sides of the plate. The crowd roared as Naz skittered into a corner but all that bought him were feet instead of fists as Razorblade stomped away at Naz. After nearly half a minute of Razorblade's rampage Krieger tried to intervene but Savage put a big boot in his eyes and sent him flying from the apron to the floor. But when Razorblade went to continue the attack, Naz planted his boots in Razorblade's face. el-Fadal charged out of the corner but got the business end of a Razorblade lariat that sent him right back down to the mat.
The Champ spent the next few minutes putting the #1 contender through his paces and when Palmer II tried to ride to Naz’s rescue Razorblade saw it coming and gave “Upper Class” a snap spinebuster onto Naz. Razorblade dropped Naz a couple more times and then went for the Soul Crusher, drawing the ire of Evan O'Neill. O’Neill came down the apron and got kicked off by The Champ but he'd taken the bullet for el-Fadal and that'd bought Naz enough time to counter. Both champion and future challenge flew off the top rope with an avalanche side Russian leg sweep that rattled the ring and had both men pancaked on the mat. Due to their landings, Naz was able to drape an arm over Razorblade but Savage barely shouldered up out of it at 2 ¾. Both men crawled away from each other, then made tags - Razorblade to his usual partner JD and Naz to perpetual irritant O’Neill.
It didn't take long for Davis to get the upper hand, but when he stuck the Oracle of Off-Book with the JDDDT after a couple of minutes all of Evan’s teammates got in the ring for saves that triggered a Pier 8 like the one that started the match. Naz and Razorblade began fighting in the ring, took things to the floor and eventually traded shots up the ramp and into backstage but the wily O’Neill took advantage of most people watching that to tag in Krieger behind JD’s back. Krieger rocked Justice with a pair of shoteis and went for the Jacqueshammer but Davis stuck him with a JDDDT and kept hold of One Eye before rolling into the Davis Driver. Beauty and the Beast Mode fended off the World Tag Team champions and Davis secured the victory to a good pop from the crowd. After replays Davis and Mode got their hands raised while the All Starr Stable seethed on the ramp.
As usual ahead of the main event, we got some hype for the shows next week: Unleashed will feature a Crush championship defense from “Night Sky” Diana Spare and a trios match where the Chosen will send Goody Gardner and the End Times against Ashok Banjerjee and the Game Changers.
And next week's Ruckus? Well, it's the third anniversary of the flagship show and it's packed - Commissioner Holmes is set to make a big announcement, rumored to do with the main event at Dia de los Muertos - A Cut Above will be facing longtime rivals Savage Justice in a non-titles match that hopefully doesn't break down completely this time - and regardless of how the main event goes down four members of Hysteria will face Women's World champion Lolo Vuitton, Crush champion “Night Sky” Diana Spare, Shelley LaVey and Ashley “THEE Influencer” Szabo.
Speaking of the all important main event…
6. Luz Cruz d. Crush champion “Night Sky” Diana Spare, Shelley LaVey and Sohla Patel in a non-title fatal four way at 13:18 to become #1 contender to the Women's World championship One of the best TV matches of the year saw Cruz pull out the narrowest of victories and she will now get to face Lolo Vuitton with the Women's World championship on the line at Dia de los Muertos.
Given the nature of the match it was no surprise that the first few minutes saw brief flashes of deep seated hatred but also some underlying cautiousness. Sohla seemed to use her sneakiness to her advantage early, getting in the match via blind tags before landing some offense and then tagging out to whoever she could when she started to find herself in trouble. While Patel picked her spots her strategy paid dividends when she was able to dodge a double jump moonsault on famous rival Cruz and hit her trademark Ninth Incarnation; before she could win the fight both Diana and Shelley jumped in the ring and broke up the fall.
The resultant smacktalk between LaVey and Spare, rolling over from their win and contretemps on last week's show seemed to make the Crush champ more aggressive and more dangerous. Night Sky didn't have a friend in the ring and spent the next couple of minutes taking it to whoever got in her way. When Shelley tagged herself in and said they could settle this right here and now Spare flashed a crocodile grin before they threw down. As the former (?) allies fought Shelley tried to use her quickness to get out ahead but Spare not only caught an attempted Pele kick, she turned it into a big release German suplex. Spare took the upper hand on Shelley and even dropped her with a pop up Michinoku Driver but that fall was broken up by Luz.
After a double crossbody attempt left them both down they both tagged out, then Luz and Sohla tried to out heel the other. Cruz seemingly was going for a Ninth Incarnation on its usual deliverer but Sohla hit a Fresh To Death cutter that had Shelley scowling on the apron. Some rope running led to Shelley blind tagging in so she could deliver the real deal cutter to Sohla, and after Patel raked the eyes and scrambled away Spare tagged herself back in and immediately got dropped by a LaVey Pele.
Things only ratcheted up in intensity and weirdness from there as the match ran through a bunch of short term alliances and falling outs (as much falling out as there can be when all the participants don't get along). Luz and Sohla teamed up on Shelley, Shelley and Diana briefly put their differences aside to try and shut up Patel in moments that echoed the Forbidden Book Club, and it looked for all the world as if the match was over after Cruz and Patel teamed up to hit Spare with a combination powerbomb and Backstabber that echoed Spare's Nightfall; LaVey had to save Spare and the match by delivering a Fallen Angel splash on the pin attempt.
The Quality Controllers were already chanting “This is awesome!” as the women continued brawling and occasionally countering someone else leading to a Tower of Doom spot where Spare powerbombed Cruz, who was in the middle of hitting a double superplex on the warring LaVey and Patel. A brief “Fight forever!” chant got drowned out by “QCW!” ones and that was before the frantic final run of offense from all four corners decided the match.
Strikes led to signatures which led to wobbly legged finishers. While the ref was trying to get them out of the ring, Sohla hit Shelley with her sunset flip buckle bomb but when she tried to hit the Ninth Incarnation for a third time in the fight Shelley pivoted and drilled the Bollywood Diva with a Fresh To Death. That got Sohla out of the frame but left Shelley wide open to be scooped up by Spare and hit with a Nightfall that sent her bouncing off “Night Sky”’s knees and put on her back. When the ref waved off Diana’s pin on Shelley, Spare slowly got to her feet to ask why; instead of an answer she got Cruz flying into the frame with a double jump poison rana that almost sent her flying out of the ring upon impact. Cruz pulled Spare away from the ropes, hooked a leg and punched her ticket to Dia de los Muertos.
We got a longer runway than usual for replays; when we went back live we saw Luz Cruz getting her hand raised and while the boos were loud you could see a few fans applauding. Cruz stepped over Spare, went to the middle rope and made A Very Familiar Gesture around her waist. The credits box came up and Ruckus went off the air with the #2, #3 and #4 contenders almost out on the canvas - and the new #1 contender warning The Champ she was coming to take her belt.
Quality Arena | Parts Unknown, FL
Aired live on GRPL+ | July 12th, 2024
Steve Vandeblanche and Carl Christensen on commentary, the Voice of QCW Duck Eko handled the ring announcing
1. Omar Littlefield d. “the Proper King Richard Windsor in a non-title match at 2:36 Omar put Richard’s usual partner on the shelf a couple of months ago and Windsor was out for revenge. He did not get it. He did not come close to getting it, though he had a brief flurry at the beginning before Omar almost launched him from the ring with a Pounce. The squash ended 2 Vader Bombs and a Face Eraser later. Post match Omar feinted sending Windsor to the hospital but settled for chasing the ref to the back instead.
Just kidding, he came back to the ring and hit another Face Eraser. The rookie monster seems ready to defend the Fifteen Pounds of Gold come Sunday night against Autumn Powers.
Once Omar stomped off to the back for good, Steve entered the ring and said that he had some news he just got from the Commissioner that he thought everyone in the building should hear - that AnnIVersary, their biggest PPV of the year is returning to the Arena on September 8th, with tickets going on sale once next week's Ruckus goes off the air. He put over the fact that they were going to not just have the biggest show of QCW’s moderna era but QCW history period, so why wouldn't you want to be in the building for that if you could? Steve thanked everyone for their time before heading back to the desk and resuming his duties for the next match:
2. Mean Season d. Justine Danek and Bella Jolie of Hysteria (w/Bonnie Agrippa and Nancy Crowley) at 7:34 In their first run with the company, both Justine and Bella had long standing issues with Mean Season so this tag match here showed all four women going at it with gusto. With the advantage of being a team longer, Mean Season was able to fight out of a rough patch and managed to land a tandem wheelbarrow implant DDT to pick up the victory.
Season won the battle but lost the war, as Bonnie and Nancy hit the ring and eventually with a four on two advantage Hysteria laid Gaia and Winter out. Bonnie started to cut a promo only to have the noise from the crowd alert her Something Was Up. Luz Cruz ran down the ramp and headed for the ring but barely got to her feet in it before Justine wiped her out with a Buckshot lariat; it sent Luz’s head back and to the left before she went down in a heap. Bonnie pointed to the carnage around her and said with Hysteria behind her it was only a matter of time before the group had control of the Women's World championship. As for her Crush championship – well, now that she had put a couple more Ls on Shelley LaVey's name she was in more of a giving mood. Agrippa then made the biggest possible open challenge she could, daring any woman from any locker room to come to Cruel Summer and take the Crush championship out of her hands. Agrippa warned any woman who would try her luck against her, she and Hysteria would take whatever was thrown at them and return it four fold before snapping her fingers and disappearing her crew in the darkness once again. Refs came down once the lights came back on to check on Mean Season and Luz Cruz going into commercials.

3. Nazir el-Fadal and International Lotus d. Ashok Banjerjee, Luz Cruz and Lolo Vuitton at 13:29 As will happen sometimes on a go home show, two PPV matches get twinned together for a tag match; announce hyped both the Women's World and World TV title matches on Sunday in the crevices of the trios match. Cruz insisted that she was good to go after what happened right before the commercial break but her handful of moments in the ring she looked loopy and got handled pretty easily no matter who she was in there against. This left Ashok and Lolo to cover Cruz's share of the team, something that wasn't sustainable against three former (maybe not so former after this weekend) World champions. Naz and Lotus worked well together as they've been loose associates since he return; after wiping out Ashok with a hip toss Michinoku Driver on the floor the black hats played Whack-A-Lolo to finish the fight as Sohla's Ninth Incarnation set up Karyn's Spare Me to pave the way for a dose of Nazquil to close things out. Post match the heels made sure to smacktalk their opponents in 48 hours before exchanging hugs. You’d think there’d be no such thing as a scummy hug, and yet four happened in a row…
Backstage promo with Julius Duquesne III, Super Avión and Roberto Villalobos - they were all smarn and sneers after Roberto made his brother Ricardo (tracks Crusazdo del Oro) lie down for him in a contract match last week so that he could get reinstated. Roberto said that his brother was lucky he didn't get his weak ass stomped out again and Avión said that now QCW was going to see what he could do when he had a real partner backing him up. Later tonight they'd debut as Asesinos Aereos and show QCW - hell, the world - what lucha libre at the highest altitudes looked like. JD3 had follow up questions about Ricardo and the signing of El Vengador de Gente Jr to the roster but they laughed off the former and dismissed the latter with a scoff before leaving the set.
4. The End Times d. the Wonderful Ward Brothers, Beauty and the Beast Mode and Team Batroc in a fatal four way at 14:42 This came about after a triple threat between the other teams was ruined by the End Times returning and laying them all out, and it served as an amuse bouche for some of what's to come Sunday in the tag team turmoil match to fill the vacant Unified World Tag Team championships.
✨ ✨ ✨
Given the one fall to a finish nature of this match as opposed to the Turmoil that’ll happen at Cruel Summer, we got a blend of the expected (Team Batroc having heat with all three teams given their histories but nobody being able to stop Pyotr Caviar without some help, the Players and Wards being able to work together at least until the pin attempts started) and the unexpected (Serge hitting a crossbody to the floor to save Pyotr from the rest of the field and end a dive train, there was a moment down the stretch where Team Batroc had to save their former stablemates the Brothers Wars from losing to the Wards and a few beats later the Players broke up what would've been a Wards pinfall by Rich on Serge). The end came when the End Times hit the Reckoning (a tornado DDT version of the Doomsday Device) on Jason “the Great” Ward and Danny Castle (Serge's partner forever ago) pinned one of the men he’d thrown off the ramp months ago. Announce put over their win, noting they were the only team in the match that weren't former champions but they could become current champions with their devastating finisher and some help with the luck of the draw on Sunday.
We got a video package mostly centered around what happened in QCW Headquarters down the block from the Arena earlier this week - luchador El Vengador de Gente Jr. officially signing his QCW contract as both Commissioner Holmes and minority owner Ig de Catur watched on approvingly. A subtitled Vengador talked about wanting to hold QCW gold as he did in Lucha Salvaje and knew he would in time but there was a wrong he had to right first. Yo soy El Vengador de Gente Jr, y mi palabra… es la ley. (My word is the law.)
5. Asesinos Aereos d. “Swamp Pride Ted Holland and Robert E. Moonshine at 6:22 Following that clip, the team of Super Avión and Roberto Villalobos debuted for the first time and had little trouble in polishing off the Southern boys, ending things with a tandem 450° splash. Things didn't get any better for Robert and Ted post match, as the Qualitron flashed m I d n 1 g h t over and over again until Iron Maiden hit the PA. Hockey Mask and the hulking Mohawk from the past few weeks of vignettes walked down the ramp and laid out the already laid out Robert and Ted, dropping them both with something like a Total Elimination that was less “kicky” and more “lariat your face off”. Iron Maiden never stopped playing as they headed to the back; after they did the Qualitron said

6. The Game Changers d. Witchfinder General and Goody Gardner in a weapons match at 10:33 This match was supposed to happen a few shows ago but the holy rollers forfeited it rather than participate; Commissioner Holmes announced this as a make good on Quality Social earlier in the week and after the holy rollers complained threatened another forfeit would make Witchfinder forfeit his National Championship to Ashley THEE Influencer instead of them having their scheduled Cruel Summer title match.
In a mirror of the earlier trios match, Witchfinder took too long to adapt to the kind of match (while frighteningly Goody was setting up a table less than 90 seconds in like she had bingo hall blood in her veins). Gardner busted Al open by throwing him headfirst into a chair propped up in a corner, which looked like it would turn the tide for Team Bible - but seeing Goody not only jump Al again but bust him open awakened something unholy in Ashley who ran wild down the stretch getting her revenge. Ashley pulled the Tiki God out of WG’s Repent before upper cutting him and leaving his mouth bloody - it turned out Szabo had hidden a pair of handcuffs in her hand with the punch and she used them to handcuff the National Champion to the ropes. Goody soon pulled herself off the canvas and went full throttle at Ashley only for Al to low bridge her out to the apron before hitting her with a uranagi through the table she set up earlier. The end came as Witchfinder had to watch Goody eat a chair assisted Face Reality; Ashley stared him down during the three count while mouthing “You're next.”
Before the big announcement of the evening, Steve and Carl ran down the card for Cruel Summer while the ring crew cleaned up the mess and cut a seething Witchfinder loose:
On the preshow, the Wastelanders will debut against “Swamp Pride Ted Holland and Robert E. Moonshine and 3/4ths of Hysteria (Nancy, Justine and Bella) will be in trios action against Luz Cruz and Mean Season. Every match at the PPV on the main card has a title on the line.
Deeper dive.
☀️🌴 Witchfinder General will face off against Ashley THEE Influencer Szabo with the National Championship on the line in a rematch of the Duquesne Classic finals 🌴☀️
☀️🌴 Bonnie Agrippa made an open challenge for her Crush championship 🌴☀️
☀️🌴 There will be a tag team turmoil match eight teams deep and the winners will be crowned the new Unified World Tag Team champions 🌴☀️
☀️🌴 GRPL+ World Television champion Ashok Banjerjee looks to defend the belt against his toughest opponent yet, Grand Slam winner Nazir el-Fadal 🌴☀️
☀️🌴 This one's been over a year in the making, ex partners collide when Lolo Vuitton defends her Women's World championship against her ex bestie, Karyn Tisch-Warren of International Lotus ☀️🌴
☀️🌴 And in the main event, Omar Littlefield defends the Unified World Championship against former champ, the Final Woman, Autumn Powers. 🌴☀️
Washington D.C. is sold out - QCW avoided one local curse there - so if you want to catch Cruel Summer you gotta order it on PPV!
We went back to the ring, where the slightly bloodied Game Changers were standing on the apron, both Al and Ashley's faces going through emotions like a revolving door. And on that cheery note, “This Town Ain't Big Enough For the Both of Us” hit the PA.
Out strode “Dark Mirror” Beckett Carpenter in street gear. They exchanged brief nods with the Game Changers before hugging Duck, getting the mic and hitting the ring - but not really to cut a promo, just to talk. Beckett said they stood proud in this ring because they went above and beyond to get noticed so that they could be heard. WarGames, announcing their non binary status, finding real allies like Al and Ashley, going to war in the Best of 5 and holding the Fifteen Pounds of Gold even if it was only for a few minutes. They forced Commissioner Holmes to look inward when they changed the game with their announcement, and a lot of looking inward led them to this moment - when they had to announce that they were retiring.
It took two minutes for the ripples from that to settle - there was crying from Al, from Steve and plenty of Quality Controllers. Carl got bleeped out and quickly apologized. Ashley consoled Al and shook her head.
The only person who didn't seem sad was Carpenter, who said that they weren't dying, just retiring. Their aim had been to change QCW for the better and to make it a place where those like them could know that they could come here, be accepted, and if they wanted a Triple Crown they'd sure as hell have to fight for it…but it could still end up on their shelf. Mirror just really wanted to say a farewell to the fans, stans and haters - and let them know that changing the game was what they came to QCW to do and they did, so if the game played on without them, well ..it wasn't the worst thing in the world.
Mirror put their mic down and saluted the Quality Controllers, who were chanting “THANK YOU, MIRROR!” so loud the cameras were wobbling a little. Al and Ashley hugged the usually reticent Carpenter, who let out a big sigh and hugged their former stablemates.
It was a feel-good moment to end feel-good moments…until it got ruined by the sound of someone's deep and deeply obnoxious laughter. Omar Littlefield walked out on the stage and told Carpenter to cut the crap and got a tidal wave of boos as a result .
Omar said that Mirror needed to admit that the real reason they were retiring was him - that he'd spent all year kicking their ass, hell, practically inventing new ways to kick their ass, and now he’d taken them out of the place they helped build because it was his now. He explained as he came down the ramp that it was an old trick he’d learned in the yard: find the biggest guy in it and drop them. Carpenter wasn't the biggest size wise but had one of the biggest names, and they led him right to the belt. He was within shouting distance of the Triple Crown after four months when it took Mirror four years of scarring themselves. As Omar came up the steps, he told Mirror it was time to admit they were retiring because Omar had knocked them the eff out last month and they were still recovering from it. Admit they were retiring because of him breaking their clavicle. Omar got in the ring and in Carpenter’s face.
“Admit you're retiring because of me…and I won't put you in a wheelchair. How about that?”
And with those two sentences, Omar Littlefield caused so much heat in the building it almost caught on fire again. The boos rattled the cheap seats and cameras alike, Mirror fumed and Carl let out an all-time call of “.......man, eff that guy!” Mirror stewed, glaring up at Omar and slowly brought the mic up to their mouth.
“Listen here. You –” was as far as Carpenter got before the Game Changers came roaring out of the corner and started throwing hands on The Champ, the crowd erupted with cheers as Al and Ashley started to make Omar pay for his words, only for Littlefield to suddenly get some separation on the former Unified World Tag Team champions before hitting a Pounce on Al that sent him flying into Ashley and laid them both out.
Littlefield wheeled around and was headed for Carpenter when “Mota” hit the PA and out came Autumn Powers to another big pop from the crowd. Littlefield turned his attention towards the ramp, and that's exactly when both Game Changers popped back up and popped Omar in the head with glass tubes they weren't able to get to in the weapons match. Autumn started running down the ramp as Al and Ashley emptied the tank, cracking a few more glass tubes over Omar's head as Autumn came down and pulled him out of the ring. Mirror looked on from the ring with a small grin as longtime rivals Autumn and the Game Changers swarmed Omar, and once he was down to a knee Autumn put him on his back with a Hazy Shade of Autumn. Carpenter bowed in front of Steve and Carl before clearing the announce table, then moved off to the side as the Changers exchanged Mirroresque grins. On the same wavelength, Al and Ashley grabbed Omar and hit him with a double uranagi that had him laid out on the table like a Sunday dinner. Omar was splayed out on the table - and as Mirror looked on from the floor, Autumn climbed up to the top rope before pointing at Omar.
Then the former Unified World champ flew off with a diving double foot stomp that sent Omar through the table to the roars of the crowd and yelps of glee from Al and Ashley. Autumn briefly held up the Fifteen Pounds of Gold before dumping it on Omar's splayed out body, and the camera was close enough to hear her say when she had it in her hands Sunday night she’d be walking out of D.C. as The Champ once again. Ruckus faded to black with Autumn getting dap from Al and Ashley before shaking hands with her longtime rival Beckett, who said something to her before raising her hand to another big pop. Sunday night on PPV, it’s the former champ and the Final Woman against the rookie monster and The Champ with the Fifteen Pounds of Gold on the line! Be there!

| • Mirror Mirror d. “Tiki God” Al Buffett • | Considering their behavior in recent weeks, it was weird to see Mirror…for lack of a better term, a little weirded out by Al’s general conviviality. They had control early on but lost it within a minute, and then Mirror & Al had pretty much a coin flip of a match that ended with Mirror countering the Lava Rock into a snap Code Red, legs over the shoulders for the pin with Al kicking out of it a fraction too late. **
Al hung his head a little after the match, then shook his head & nodded to accept the results. Mirror got the mic (Scott Holmes was probably backstage with the censors on standby) and said this: "I'm at a loss. Someone as reedy and small as yourself who can wear shirts that ugly and go toe-to-toe with Toddzilla clearly has all the confidence in the world... would you like to have a drink with me?" Al took the mic, smiled, and said “You had me at drink.” They shook hands and walked up the ramp together. Since this is professional wrestling this undoubtedly will never end in heartbreak. Maybe they’ll be the first really tight friends who don’t let the BS get to them. A recapper can hope…
Anyhow, from there TOTHEBACK~! where Winter Wonderland was about to get interviewed by Enya Face, when the Storybookers (Wendy & the Red Queen) walked up to her. Clearly remembering past history, Enya slowly backed out of the frame before you could hear her heels running down the hallway. Winter squared up ready to fight, while the Queen admitted that the Storybookers had had a very long year. Winter’s “No shit?” got bleeped a couple seconds late and a pop from the crowd. The Queen did mention that they cut the dead weight of Mirror, and lo, how their fortunes have improved: they’ve added Bella d’Ball - they could become the inaugural Women’s Tag Champs - and on top of all that, they just came from Holmes’ office and are back on PPV at Cold As Hell.
Versus the Forbidden Book Club.
In matriarch fornicating W A R G A M E S, daddeh.
Winter sarcastically asked why she was telling her about her plans to lose a handicap match. The Queen swallowed a bit, nodded, then shook her head and said the past is the past. New Year, New and Improved Storybookers. The FBC is trying to take over the women’s division, the men’s tag division with Gothic Horror, and of course they’ll go after the women’s tag belts themselves; does Winter think they’re magically going to overlook her if she’s in their way? She doesn’t need to leave Mean Season if she’s happy there, doesn’t even need to like her former teammates – but for one night, the biggest night QCW history so far, in probably the most sadistic match in QCW’s 21st century, when the Queen thought of whom to go into battle, Winter wasn’t the top of the list; she was the list. Would she join them inside the steel and beat these Craft ripoffs back into the bargain bin where they belonged? The Red Queen extended her hand - Winter smirked - then turned on her (metaphorical) heels and walked off. Wendy looked like she wanted to go after her but the Queen held her up and said “That’s not going to help anything. Let her choose.”
As the now two-man International Workrate Commission came out to the ring, Let Us Take You Back To Last Week where Serge Batroc started his weekly gauntlet against the IWC, trying to take them over by beating every one of them. He went over Martin Williams, who then was shockingly (?) turned on by both Stahl & Windsor. Serge didn’t help them, but he didn’t save Martin, either.
| • Serge Batroc d. “King Carny” Richard Windsor (w/Anton “Teknik” Stahl) • | He did beat Richard clean in the middle in a nice match, though. Windsor went after the leg early, and while Serge looked over his shoulder for Anton - they exchanged passive aggressive compliments last week before Teknik went out and advanced in the TV title tournament - Stahl, either because he’s in the main event tonight or because of his code, didn’t get involved at any point during the proceedings. With increasing “Serge!” chants fueling him on, Batroc fought through the pain, threw Windsor around the late portion of the match with nice suplexes, then did a one-legged Arc de Triomphe to secure the pin with the injured leg figure fouring his good one during the pinfall. Worth going out of your way to see, especially if you like no frills no bullshit pro graps. ***
Stahl slid in the ring, and got in Windsor’s face – then shook his head, and clapped Windsor on the back. He offered a hand to Serge, who laughed in his face and rolled out of the ring, before offering up a smile too wide to be friendly and yelling out “Two down, mon ami!” Windsor was obviously apprehensive about heading to the back with Stahl, but it wasn’t him he would have to worry about – Williams came flying in out of the crowd and went after the Commission, but 2>1 and Martin eventually got a two-man wheelbarrow DDT into the ramp that stopped his onslaught.
| • “The Island Flower” Luz Cruz & Summer Rose NC the Forbidden Book Club • | It never happened because as the FBC were coming out, Winter Wonderland ran out with a chair and started laying them all out. Cruz & Rose were very much like “Not my circus, not my monkeys” and headed to the back. The Club started ganging up on Wonderland, drawing the Storybookers with their own chairs, and people with steel chairs will always beat people without them regardless of gender. Not only did the Forbidden Book Club end up laid out, but Bonnie “Equinox” Agrippa got her haircut into a mullet not even a Von Dutch enthusiast could love. The Storybookers rejoiced, Winter nodded and smirked before heading to the back, and suddenly you get the feeling WARGAMES might just steal the show in the 6.
| • Toddzilla d. Caballero Blanco • | As happened previously to another Caballero, QCW’s resident land monster ate him. SQUASH After making the referee count to 5, Toddzilla piled on after the bell, but Caballero Verde (entirely possible they’re related) came out for the save and the luchadores knocked Toddzilla out of the ring even though they never knocked him off of his feet. After that, Verde got on the mic and challenged Todd to a handicap match on next week’s Ruckus, which he accepted eagerly. It’s a big go-home show with that underneath the TV Title tourney semis.
After commercials?
The Immortals.
Teased for the past couple of weeks, this was the first time for QCW fans to see them in the flesh - the hot new signing of the tag team division, two bad-ass mofos who strike fear into the hearts of all their future victims – except, apparently, Gothic Horror, who came out in a bad mood and already dismissive of the newcomers, cutting them off before they could utter a syllable. Fear? Pain? How could two men who just got here put those silly notions into the heart of former and future QCW tag team champions, especially two men who were just playacting at what they already were? The Revenant said that the Immortals had died and been reborn multiple times over, and if inferior copies of them were willing to be their first victims, then they were grateful for their sacrifice. Gothic Horror sure AF didn’t like that, and headed down to the ring – only to be cut off by a bunch of NPCs, security, suits, et al. Golly jee willikers, if only we had an upcoming PPV they could settle this beef at…
| • “Party Animal d. “These Hands” Roy Fade, Mason “Razorblade” Savage, and Anton “Teknik” Stahl in a fatal four-way match • | These four men are going to be in semifinal matches in the TV title tournament next week: Stahl/Savage and Fade/Animal. But with those matches next week, Scott Holmes made this the last QCW match of 2021. Usual rules in effect, but still highly chaotic with all the moving parts involved, much to the constant roars of the crowd. Fade and Stahl briefly teamed up, only to turn on each other. (Phrasing!) One Tower of Doom spot saw Savage come off the top with a Blockbuster to lay out Animal, who was on Fade’s shoulders, but Stahl broke up a possible winning pinfall. Stahl got the Matter of Time on Savage, with Fade making an unlikely save. Fade hit Animal with the Decision, only for Stahl to toss Fade and go for the win himself; Party kicked out at the death. The end came off a different high wire act: Savage hit the Soul Crusher on Fade, only for Party to knee him in the back to send him out of the ring and score the pinfall on the obviously out of it Fade. ** ½.
"The Claw is Law" chants rang out as Animal celebrated in the crowd Fade seethed, and Savage started to get helped to the back by his friend (?) the QCW World Champion Mayhem – only for Savage to get fireballed in the face by somebody in the crowd on the aisleway, who would then jump the rail and throw Mayhem into the steps.
Survey SEZ?!
Nazir.
El.
Fadal.
While EMTs checked up on Savage, Nazir threw Mayhem into the steps a couple of more times before throwing the steps in the ring, then Mayhem, then himself. Already helpless, Mayhem was easy prey for a WMDDT into the top of the stairs; the show (and year) ended with Nazir bellowing “I WANT MY REMATCH, YOU CHARLATAN! I WANT MY REMATCH!” on the top step yelling down at the unconscious Mayhem on the mat.
