GRPL+ Presents QCW Ruckus [s3e11 • Febrnuary 9, 2023]

Quality Arena | Parts Unknown, FL

Aired live on GRPL+ | February 9, 2024

After the open rolled, we went to Quality Arena where the Controllers were loud and Steve Vandeblanche and Carl Christensen were rolling out the welcome mat.  They hyped up Sohla Patel vs. Lolo Vuitton as well as the massive man event: Autumn Powers vs. Pyotr Caviar II for the Unified World championship.   Ahead of that massive title clash there are two other title fights to go down, and the first one would kick off the show.

1.. Omar Littlefield [c] v. “Swamp Pride” Ted Holland for tne GRPL+ Wprld Television Championship

Well, fight, beatdown; po-tay-tp, po-tay-to.  Omar swarmed Ted from the opening bell, and the closing bell rang barely a minute after.  Littlefield ended things with four Vader Bombs (maybe we should start calling them Littlefield bombs?) setting up the Face Eraser.

We got another sizzle reel of Ashok Banjerjee, leaning heavily on Catch Hell Wrestling League footage of him, having been their two time champion amongst other accolades.  From Banjerjee hitting highspots and holding up titles we went to footage from Earlier This Week at QCW offices, where Commissioner Holmes looked on proudly as Ashok put pen to paper and joined QCW.

We got Holmes talking about how proud he was to add another international superstar to the roster and was looking forward to seeing what he would do.  When the camera crew asked Ashok what he was looking forward to now that he was QCW certified, Banjerjee smiled and said he was looking forward to making history and making sure people remembered his name as one of the best to ever do it no matter where he was.  “So bring it on, QCW.”

2. Nazir el-Fadal v. Mr. Teknik

The show continued on with a former World champion going up against one of QCW’s rising stars.  Mr. Teknik seemed to have maybe the upper hand when it came to technical wrestling early, so Naz reached into his bag of tricks.  He dipped between the ropes to force a breakz then he reached over the ref and turned Mr. Teknik 's mask around to blind him before locking on a cobra clutch.  As Not Mr. T tried to make the ropes Naz pulled him into a Lungblower before letting him crash into the canvas.

From there it was another episode of the Nazis el-Fadal Show and Mr. Teknik was stuck playing Sideshow Bob.  Even when Mr. Teknik made a rally, Naz caught him off the ropes with a tilt-a-whirl Michinoku Driver that ran a jolt of shock through the Arena.  el-Fadal again put an opponent away with a Lightning Spiral that the announce said he's calling Nazquil, and it put Mr. Teknik to sleep.

After replays, Naz was standing atop the announce desk with a mic in his hand.  He said that this was usually his favorite part of the evening, when he usually got to leave this dump and go to a real town.  But tonight was different - he was going to watch Pyotr Caviar beat Autumn Powers within an inch of her life, and no matter who won the main event he’d be calling next, because if it was a major QCW title even these Parts Unknown dirtbags knew it would sooner or later around the waist of Nazir el-Fadal – still the Greatest Man Alive.

“Ready Or Not” hit the PA to escort a smiling (sneering?) Naz to the back before the second title match of the night took place…

3. “La Flor” Luz Cruz [c] v. Hilary Highnote for the Crush championship

Ever since coming back and regaining her old title, you have to have Cruz in the discussion for Wrestler of the Year.  Her roll continued here against the game but overmatched Highnote.  Cruz faked the rookie out before hitting a springboard tornado DDT to set up her triple jump moonsault that notched her yet another W.

From Luz’s in ring celebrating we cut to the back where Sohla Patel was with the rest of International Lotus.  Patel shook her head and scowled before working on her strikes with Scott Warren-Tisch while the announce hyped her match against Lolo Vuitton coming later in the show.

From there, the announce gave us a Quality Arena arson update in which they divulged that working alongside PUPD they've been able to uae security footage from the aeeas surrounding Quality Arena and they’ve possibly narrowed down on a suspect.  As they clean up the footage, they're hoping to update us right after they get updated themselves and encouraged us to keep checking in on QCW.com for any sort of breaking news.

4.. The End Times & Evan O’Neill (w/”Upper Class” Broderick Palmer II and Summer Rose) v. Jupiter Jones & the International Players (w/Science Fiction Double Feature)

Going into the match QCW Rewind took us back to last week, where the End Times cheated to beat the International Players but got run off by Jupiter Jones when they tried to pile on post match.

The first chunk of the match went to the black hats, even though O’Neil hogged a lot of their early tags.  Benjamin Valentino took the beating and fought through the beating, even when the End Times laid him out with a double superplex.  Summer was directing traffic and instructed her charges - but while she did that, O’Neill tagged himself back in.  It looked like all hell was going to break loose amongst the heels but surprisingly Broderick Palmer II seemed to be calming down the tensions.

What he missed right before it happened was Benjamin using their bickering to crawl over and tag in Jupiter Jones.

By the time O’Neill realized what had happened he was getting dropkicked in the mush, and from there the man some people call Mr. QCW was serving up some righteous justice for his team.

Patton and Valentino ran interference and eventually the End Times to the back, leaving Jones to finish his handiwork with a textbook Bolt From Olympus that got him 3.

Jupiter humbly bowed to each side of the ring as the crowd roared and chanted his name.   The International Players came back out as Jupiter headed to the back and all of Collipark took a celebratory bow in front of the Tron.

Steve and Carl set up a video package that announced the location for the Golden Rule PPV next month, and QCW is making another trip to the Great White North.  More specifically, it's coming live from Calgary –

-

– Alberta, Canada!  The Saddledome will host another quality special event with title matches, feud enders and more.  For those close to Calgary or willing to make the trek, tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon Eastern and 10 Calgary x mountain time.

5. Sohla Patel (w/International Lotus) v. Lolu Vuitton

As International Lotus came out in support Sohla, QCW Rewind took us back two weeks to.Lolo returning and facing Karyn Tisch-Warren for the Women's World championship - a belt she might have regained  had Sohla not saved Karyn's title reign and dove in.  But Sohla accidentally chaired Karyn and Lolo dropped Sohla, and that takes us to tonight.

Lolo rushed the ring and went right at Sohla even before the bell rang, and then once it did Vuitton stayed on a roll.  It looked like she was going to take it in under 3 minutes with the Bloody Shoe but as she came around the horn Karyn jumped up on the apron and diverted everyone's focus.

Lolo took a swing at her ex partner Karyn and missed, allowing current partner Sohla to jump Lolo from behind before Patel back suplexed Vuitton into the corner and took control of the match, however shady it may have been.

Sohla went to work on Lolo's head and being shady is a feature, not a bug for the Bollywood Diva.  Patel kept the upper hand mixing technical work with shadiness (a cravate with a top rope choke, for example) while Steve grumbled about all the dirty tricks she got from Karyn's learning tree.  Sohla was even willing to get in the ref’s face and argue a count before continuing to go to work –

– but Lolo hooked her into an inside cradle for 2.  Both women got up and Sohla smashed a back elbow into Vuitton’s face, but when she followed up and hooked Lolo up for something Lolo reversed it into a vicious rewind rana that popped the crowd and maybe Sohla 's neck.

It was Ass Whoop.O’Clock from there and Lolo was right on time,

eventually putting Sohla down with a springboard dropkick to set up the Bloody Shoe for the dub.

Lolo Vuitton d. Sohla Patel at 10:38

Of course, since that couldn't stand Karyn Tisch-Warren hit the ring and in short order International Lotus was putting it to Lolo.  Sohla ended up holding Lolo so Karyn could slap her ex partner a couple of times and mock Vuitton.  But unbeknownst to Karyn, she was about to meet the business end of her own petard.

The crowd started cheering, and Sohla ended up throwing Lolo down to the mat.  She did that because the Tron was parting and Luz Cruz was flying down the ramp to even the score.

Cruz dropped Karyn then went after Sohla, and when Karyn went after Luz it got Lolo up off the deck and started throwing hands herself.  In short order the white hats took over the ring and as Lotus were collecting themselves on the floor, both Lolo and Luz were smack talking them from the ring and encouraging them to try that crap again with the odds evened up.  We went to break with Lolo and Luz firing up the faithful, Lolo saying that the next time she saw Lotus she was going to whoop their asses again and beat them like piñatas.

After the night’s last break but before the main event Steve and Carl had to conduct the hype train for next week’s super sized episode of Ruckus with limited commercial interruptions dubbed St. Violence Day.

They got in a plug for Scoop Republic since they're sponsoring the big show (hi, Ig!) next week.  And it's a big show:

Omar Littlefield is probably going to microwave some chump in a World TV title defense | “the Fury” Jim Jaspers and Prince Ootsuka will go one on one again, this time in a street fight | the Unified World Tag Team championships will be on the line when Savage Justice put the belts on the line against the End Times | And based off of what just went down, International Lotus will throw down against Crush champion Luz Cruz & Lolo Vuitton

But that's next week.  Right now, it's main event time…and main events get no bigger than when the Fifteen Pounds of Gold is up in the air.

6. Autumn Powers [c] v. Pyotr Caviar (w/Serge Batroc) for the Unified World championship

Cat and mouse game early, as you might expect.   Powers got off some strikes but Pyotr was shrugging them off before outright waving Autumn on.

The Champ changed up her offense and started throwing basement dropkicks to Pyotr's left knee, started to wobble him, and then she went for another one and Pyotr kicked her.  Powers went flying into the turnbuckle, and a hush fell over the crowd.

Replays showed Autumn flying into the corner then bouncing a couple of inches out of the corner.   Under Serge’s eye, Pyotr kept his foot on Autumn's throat for the rest of the match (sometimes literally).

Going into a picture in picture commercial break, we saw Pyotr stave off a brief Autumn rally by sliding her under the bottom rope and sending her crashing to the outside of the ring.   As Pyotr went back and forth with the referee, Serge oozed from around the corner and leaped off the stairs with a European uppercuts to drop Autumn – but the referee caught him and ejected him much for the delight of the crowd and the anger of Pyotr.

Batroc's skullduggery meant that Powers had more time than usual to recover and she put it to use, swinging a wrecking ball dropkick right into Pyotr's mug.  Having successful finally rattled Caviar, Powers continued to bring the attack and looked like she was going for a tope but turned it into a DDT on the floor that finally took down Caviar.

Autumn tried to get Pyotr back in the ring but it looked like the size difference was a bridge too far, and she rolled in at 7.  Pyotr dove in under the bottom rope at 9, but now Autumn seemed to have cracked the code and went to work with a flurry of basement dropkicks to dizzy Caviar.

At this point, Autumn started to turn the tide of the fight, and even though sometimes it looked like a desperate scramble Powers showed why she was The Champ, finally taking Pyotr off his feet with a chop block sort of clothesline to his heels that sent him on his ass.

Without a mentor ringside to help him navigate choppier waters, Pyotr didn't seem to be able to withstand the deep waters Powers put him through down the stretch.

After driving him to his knees, Autumn drilled Pyotr with a superkick.  With Caviar wobbly, Powers hit a second superkick, causing Caviar to roar before Autumn shut him up with a third basement superkick.  The Final Woman let out a Xenaesque war cry before dropping her kneepad.  Powers ran for the ropes and hit the back of Pyotr's neck with the Hazy Shade of Autumn.  Caviar 's head rolled around and you could see the wheels turning before Autumn ran for the ropes…only to be grabbed by a sudden Nazir el-Fadal and dismissively tossed into the barricade.

Autumn Powers d. Pyotr Caviar at 24:02 by disqualification to retain the Unified World championship

Naz began stomping Autumn out much to the disgusts of all decent food everywhere, and soon Serge Batroc was back out to join in even if it looked like he was having words with Naz a couple of times.  el-Fadal threw Autumn in the ring where Pyotr was waiting to level her with a Russian sickle.

Autumn was on the wrong side of a three on one beatdown; fortunately for her it didn't last long.

Quality Controllers stood up and cheered as not only did both members of Mean Season make their returns to make the save, but they came armed with chairs.  Naz and Serge gave up the beatdown to head for higher ground, but that left Pyotr Caviar alone in the ring with a full strength Mean Season.  Gaia Green and Winter Wonderland exchanged a look before serving up a steel sandwich to the big Russian, and down into the canvas he went.

The show ended with Autumn holding the Fifteen Pounds of Gold - but as much as Autumn tried to smack talk Naz into it, he merely stood at the foot of the ramp staring deeply at the newest title he wanted to add to his already overstuffed trophy case.
