GRPL+ Presents QCW Ruckus [s3e14 • March 8, 2024]

Rogers Theater | Vancouver, British Columbiaa

Aired live on GRPL+ | March 8, 2024

Show opened with a THANK YOU, STING graphic in a classy touch by QCW before the standard open and intros from Steve and Carl…

1.. Team Batroc, Even O'Neill & “Upper Class” Broderick Palmer II d. Savage Justice & the Wonderful Ward Brothers in 12:03  Despite being opponents on the Golden Rule preshow in a fatal four way tag, the black hats got along better than Savage Justice and the Wards.  Pyotr Caviar wrecked shop on the babyfaces but it was Evan O'Neill who blind tagged himself in and stole a pin on Justice Davis while the Wards let it happen.

After the match, Jason the Great got on the stick to say that Savage Justice was going to lose again on Sunday, except that once that happened the belts would go back to a real tag team and all of Canada would rejoice when they regained the titles.  Mixed reaction but mostly good from the Vancouver crowd!; unreadable reactions from their ex teammates Team Batroc on the ramp.

2. Crusazdo del Oro ddq. Super Avión in 10:23 Last week Avión turned on Oro after they lost another tag match (ironically enough against he Wonderful Wards) to get us to this lucha on lucha violence.  Oro came out with a hot start but missed a tope and went flying into the barrier.  Avión picked Oro apart after that, and even beating on Oro failed to stop Avión from being satisfied.  The former World Tag champion even pulled up Oro at a two count, and eventually the referee intervened on Oro’s behalf.  Avión shoved the ref aside to do more damage and drew a DQ for it.  It didn't stop Avión from grabbing a chair and dropping Oro with a chair shot and getting in a few more to the back of the laid out Oro.  Other referees came out to disarm Avión, who stomped off to the back after shoving the camera out of the way.

A video package played, hyping the return of the Duquesne Classic - and this year's will be the biggest ever with 16 wrestlers chopped up into a four block round robin before the semifinals and finals.  Two years ago Serge Batroc won the Classic; last year Dark Mirror took the honors.  Who will join the halloweed ranks of Duquesne Cup holders this year?

3. Lolo Vuitton (w/Luz Cruz) d. Karyn Tisch-Warren (w/International Lotus) in a non-title match in13:38 It turns out when ex partners fight, they fight.  Karyn got the upper hand in the opening minutes, throwing an STO backbreaker at Vuitton to stop her.  KTW laid it in on her former partner, perhaps trying to knock her former running buddy out of contendership once and for all after Lolo nearly upended her for the title a few weeks ago.  Lolo would start to upend her here after using an attempted Patel distraction to send Tisch-Warren into Patel to knock her off of the apron then powerbombed Karyn to the floor with rest of Lotus barely catching their figurehead.  Karyn was up in a couple of beats just in time to eat a Lolo tope con hilo, and Vuitton kept the momentum from there.  She got a little help from Cruz on the outside, who laid out both Patel and Scott Warren-Tisch with her Crush championship.  Vuitton fended off Karyn's offense and eventually drilled her with two Bloody Shoes to get the win, a bit of retribution after she almost lifted the belt off of Karyn when she came back a few weeks ago.

That brought an end to the first hour of the show.

It turned out that During the Break, the heels in the 10 person tag main event (Ambassadors Trios champions the Culture, the G+ World TV champ Omar Littlefield and Nazir el-Fadal) were skulking the hallways, with el-Fadal saying that they should just walk into Autumn and Mean Season’s dressing room and take them out before they could get started.

Littlefield said bet and shoved Naz aside before speed walking down the hall and ripping the door off the hinges.  Autumn, Gaia Green and Winter Wonderland barely had time to register their shock before Littlefield started throwing hands and el-Fadal then the Culture weren't far behind.  The heels started pushing their advantage only to start getting peeled off by the Proper Villains, the partners of Autumn and Mean Season'’s team in the main event.  Shelley LaVey quickly bowed out of the scene as referees, Quality Force security and - in a little bit of a surprise - “Dark Mirror” Beckett Carpenter with a chair - arrived on the scene to break up the fight, because we're saving that for later. Of note, Carpenter used the chair as a wedge to separate Autumn and Naz ahead of the security getting there.

4. Shelley LaVey d. “La Flor Luz Cruz [c] and Fiona Fogg in a triple threat match to win the Crush championship at 8:13 QCW Rewind showed us Fogg and LaVey going to a time limit draw on Unlimited in the latest chapter of their Wednesday night warring.  The faces went after LaVey early, but when they both went for the pin that ended their temporary alliance and they went at each other.   Shelley let them go at each other, then picked off Cruz after the champ finally put Fogg at bay for a bit.   In the end, Fogg and LaVey briefly teamed up to take out Cruz and sent the luchadora out of the ring.   Fiona and Shelley continued throwing hands in the ring - but on the floor behind the referee’s back, both members of International Lotus snuck out from under the ring and took out Cruz.  Karyn suplexed Luz into the barricade before passing Luz to Patel for a Ninth Incarnation on the floor.  Fogg won her war against LaVey, who rolled out of the ring after eating Fiona’s signature the Unspeakable.  Fogg rolled LaVey and then Cruz into the ring before waiting to see who'd get up first.  Once Luz did, Fogg laid her out with the Unspeakable.  Fogg muscled over Luz and went for the pin only for it to be broken up by a Fallen Angel splash off the top by LaVey at 2 ½.  LaVey snatched up Fogg and tossed her to the outside before pinning Cruz for the win to become a double champion.

Beauty and the Beast Mode came out to celebrate with their partner in the Culture and put her on their shoulders while the crowd booed, Fogg fumed, and saddest of all a disoriented Cruz had to be told that she:d just lost her now former title.

The live shot of the Crush championship fallout dissolved into a sepia tone over which the same word flashing over and over: REPENT.  This ended up going on for half a minute before we hit the last big commercial break of the evening.

5. Goody Gardner d. “Explosive” Emily Bennett in 5:31 Gardner made her QCW debut here dressed in what appeared to be a Pilgrim outfit.  She shook hands with the referee prematch but she went ballistic on poor Emily during the match..  Gardner dominated the showcase and eventually dusted off Miss Explosive with a snap swinging fisherman's buster.  Gardner also shook the referee's hand after getting her hand raised.

Commissioner Holmes interrupted the guys at the desk to say that he had an addition to the Golden Rule card that they were about to go over.  The Women's World championship.match was going to be a four corners elimination match where Karyn Tisch-Warren would defend the belt against Luz Cruz, Sohla Patel and Lolo Vuitton.  Whoever survived that would be the champion and damn sure would earn it.

That late addition joins a ridiculously stacked Golden Rule card that will feature every single QCW title on the line from Calgary…

🇨🇦the Culture will defend the Ambassadors Trios championships against the ex champs the Proper Villains and a partner of their choosing 🇨🇦

🇨🇦 Speaking of the Culture, their Shelley LaVey will be pulling double duty as she'll defend the Crush championship against her longtime rival Fiona Fogg 🇨🇦

🇨🇦 The undefeated and monstrous Omar Littlefield has issued an open challenge for the GRPL+ World TV title; good luck with that, whoever answers that call 🇨🇦

🇨🇦 With the Unified World Tag Team championships on the line, the former champions and proud Canadian the Wonderful Ward Brothers will face the belt holders, Savage Justice in a fight that could steal the show 🇨🇦

🇨🇦 And of course, the top of the marquee; the Final Woman vs. the Final Boss, a man looking to be The Champ again vs. the women who is: Autumn Powers will defend the Unified World championship against Nazir el-Fadal…and “Dark Mirror” Beckett Carpenter  has been tabbed as special guest referee.  Will Mirror call it down the middle?  Will Naz find a way to retake the top of QCW’s mountain?  Will Autumn find a way to hold onto the Fifteen Pounds of Gold?  Who really runs QCW? 🇨🇦

And then, it was time for the first match of the weekend to feature Beckett Carpenter as the special guest referee…

6. Nazir el-Fadal, Omar Littlefield and the Culture d. Autumn Powers, Mean Season and the Proper Villains in 15:32 “Dark Mirror” Beckett Carpenter served as the special guest referee The last match before Golden Rule featured a bunch of rivalries and champions all bubbling over.  The black hats wisely let Omar set up shop and dared the babyfaces to find a way to buckle G+ World Television champion; neither of the Villains could do it, and neither could Gaia Green.  Gaia tagged in Autumn but before any champion v. champion violence could go down Naz ran in and blindsided Autumn, having blind tagged himself into the bout.  Naz worked Autumn over for the next couple of minutes, occasionally smack talking both Powers and Carpenter.  The Champ got out from under and it looked like she was going for the Hazy Shade, but a Littlefield cheap shot rocked her and Naz added injury to injury by hip tossing her into a Michinoku Driver.  Naz called for the end and went for his Nazquil but Autumn spun through and laid out el-Fadal with a DDT.  Autumn managed to tag out to Gaia, who lit up Naz for a couple minutes before getting blindsided by an illegal Fresh To Death from “Dashing “Pierce Moore.  That drew the Proper Villains, then the  rest of the Culture, and soon there was a Pier 8 going on in and then outside the ring.  el-Fadal and Green backed into each other, then Naz planted Gaia with Nazquil.  Carpenter got down for the cover and after a slight hesitation, made the three count.

Naz made sure Mirror specifically raised his hand after replays, then started teeing off on a helpless Green.  el-Fadal even sent Autumn to the outside before going back to work over Gaia, something that might have continued on had Mirror not intervened.

As The Champ angrily snatched up a chair from the ringside area, Carpenter grabbed Naz by the back of his head before putting Look Inward on the Final Boss to the pop of the night.  el-Fadal struggled in the Dragon Clutch before eventually talking to the submission, and Carpenter definitely took a couple extra seconds to release the hold after he did.  Poeers slid into the ring and cocked the chair back but Carpenter surprisingly blocked her attempt to splatter Naz.  The credits box came up as Carpenter and Powers went forehead to forehead over a coughing el-Fadal, both clearly not whispering sweet nothings to the other.
